Surfer Element is paid by the houses listed here, and we only represent these three houses.

How do I get from Agadir airport to Tamraght?

Tamraght is about 6 to 8 km south of Taghazout on the same coast road, so every option below works for both. It is about 40 km from Agadir Al Massira Airport (AGA), roughly 40 to 50 minutes by road depending on traffic (OpenStreetMap routing and Wikivoyage on Aourir). You can take an airport taxi, the airport bus into Agadir plus a local bus north, a pre-booked transfer or a rental car. If you book a house through Surfer Element, the transfer is included both ways.

Euro figures for the taxi are our rough conversion of the dirham fare (about 10.5 to 11 MAD per euro) and will move with the exchange rate.

How much is a taxi from Agadir airport to Tamraght or Taghazout?

Expect about 400 MAD per car (roughly 35 to 40 euros) from the airport to Taghazout, and a quote in the same range for Tamraght. We could not find an official published tariff for airport taxis, so every figure here is a third-party estimate. A French travel guide, Cestee (updated 3 August 2024), cites a fixed price of 220 MAD to Agadir city centre, notes that negotiation can change it even with official airport taxis, and gives about 400 MAD (roughly 35 to 40 euros) to Taghazout. Tamraght is a little nearer than Taghazout by road (about 40 km against about 46 km from the airport), but expect a quote in the same range. Wikivoyage’s Agadir page lists the official airport taxi at 200 MAD plus 20 MAD per bag, without a clear date. We found no reliable source for a separate night fare.

Agree the price for the whole car, not per person, before you leave the terminal. Say the village name and the fare you expect, and confirm both before your bags go in the boot. Have cash in dirhams ready. Ride-hailing apps such as Uber and Bolt do not work at Agadir airport (Cestee).

If you travel with a board bag, say so when you negotiate the price.

Is there a bus from Agadir airport to Taghazout?

Not directly. Wikivoyage says no bus runs from the airport to Taghazout, and the ALSA airport shuttle page does not mention Taghazout or Tamraght.

ALSA runs an airport shuttle (the AE Aerobus) from Agadir Al Massira Airport to Agadir city centre, about 50 minutes, 50 MAD one way (checked on 2026-11-06 on alsa.ma). Tickets are sold on board or at ALSA’s agency at the airport. Service runs from about 04:00 until late evening, but check the current timetable on alsa.ma.

From central Agadir, local buses 32 and 33 run up the coast road through Tamraght to Taghazout. Fares are a few dirhams, paid in cash on board. Ask locally for the current stop and times, because published sources disagree on frequency and we found no official timetable.

The bus suits you if you travel light, land in daytime and are in no hurry. With a board bag, a late flight or a first trip to Morocco, one of the other options is easier.

Private transfer and rental car

A pre-booked private transfer gives you a fixed price and a driver at arrivals. If you book one from a stranger online, confirm the price, the pickup point and what happens if your flight is late before you pay a deposit.

A rental car works if you want to see more than the surf villages. The Cestee guide says rental companies have desks in the arrivals hall and estimates about 120 euros a week for local firms and from 200 euros a week for large international companies (updated 3 August 2024). The coast road between Agadir and Taghazout is the route you would use most.

Arriving at night

If you land after dark, check these things before you fly:

  1. Do not plan on a bus. The ALSA shuttle timetable ends late in the evening, and we found no reliable hours for local buses 32 and 33. Check alsa.ma for the current shuttle times.
  2. Expect to negotiate a taxi fare, and confirm it before you get in.
  3. Tell your accommodation your flight number and landing time before you travel, so someone knows to expect you.
  4. Ask your accommodation about check-in hours before you book a late flight.

If you book through us, send us your flight details and we will confirm your pickup.

How do I get from Agadir city to Tamraght?

Tamraght is about 16 to 18 km north of central Agadir, roughly 20 minutes by car. Taghazout is a little further on the same road. You can take a local bus or a taxi.

By bus

Local buses 32 and 33 run from central Agadir up the coast road through Tamraght to Taghazout. Fares are a few dirhams, paid in cash on board. Ask locally for the current stop and times. Tell the driver your village by name.

By taxi

Agree the price for the whole car before you set off, and ask whether it is a private or shared ride. We found no reliable published fare for a taxi from central Agadir to Tamraght.

Going back from Taghazout or Tamraght to Agadir

The same options run in the other direction. If you are flying out of AGA, give yourself slack: allow time for traffic on the way into Agadir and for the change if you take the bus.

If you are a guest at one of our three houses, you do not need any of this for your departure. The return transfer to the airport is included.

Tamraght to Taghazout and back

Tamraght is about 6 to 8 km south of Taghazout, roughly 10 minutes by taxi. Rome2Rio estimates a taxi between the two at MAD 65 to 80 (checked 2026-11-06); that is an aggregator estimate, not an official tariff, so agree the fare first.

The three houses we work with are in Tamraght, not Taghazout. The two villages sit on the same road, so a trip up to Taghazout is a short hop. If you want to know what the Taghazout breaks are like and when they work, read our guide to surfing Taghazout. We also plan separate guides on Taghazout village and on staying near Taghazout.

Is the airport transfer included if I book through Surfer Element?

Yes. The transfer from Agadir airport to your house and back is included in the price at all three houses we work with: SurfsHUB Tamraght, Cactus Surf & Skate House and Hakuna Matata Guest House. It is part of the package, not a paid add-on. You can see the package on the price page, and you can see how the houses differ on the compare page.

We should be plain about who we are: Surfer Element is a surf-camp booking agency based in Tamraght, and the three houses pay us when you book. The transfer is for guests of those three houses only. We do not run a taxi service for people who have not booked.

When you book, send us your flight details and we will confirm your pickup. You can reach us on the contact page.

When to come

The airport run is the same all year, but the surf is not. If you are choosing dates, our winter month-by-month guide covers what the water is doing from October to April. When’s the season? Roughly October to April, when north-west Atlantic swells arrive most often, with the biggest swells usually from December to March; beginners can also learn in the smaller summer waves (The Surf Atlas).

Before you fly, pick your arrival option, compare any fare you are quoted with the estimates above, and give your accommodation your flight number and landing time.
